Sing Psalms & Hymns

God in His Word reveals that He wants us to sing to Him, and that He wants His music to be beautiful, sweet, and glorious. He especially wants us to be edified when we sing—and that only happens when we understand the message of the song.

The Psalms are Hebrew poems. In many ways they are not like our modern English poetry. They were also generated in the Old Testament dispensation, which can seem foreign to our experience as New Testament believers. But our belief is that saints today can and should be edified by singing the psalms. It is our goal to make it as easy and sweet as possible to do so.

David was called the “sweet psalmist of Israel.” It meant the Jews had a rich, enjoyable experience not just reading the psalms, but singing them. Believers today still read, love, and preach the Psalms, adapting them to our Biblical dispensation. The same can be done with psalm singing.
